How CutChart Checks Sources
A CutChart reference identifies the document, its publisher, the relevant section and the date we read it. The record must describe the same machine, material and operation as the claim. A product specification alone cannot establish a cutting recipe.
Read the original document
We use manufacturer manuals and software documentation for their stated scope. Search results help locate a document. They do not replace the document itself. When a publication date is absent, we label it as unstated and show our access date separately.
What a settings row is
A row on a settings or machine page is a manufacturer-published reference parameter, not a tested recipe. It publishes only when it has a verified quote from a captured manufacturer document, an exact machine configuration, the material and operation, and the speed and power in the units the table prints. Passes appear where the table prints them. Air assist, focus, lens, line interval, frequency and pulse width are shown as not specified by the publisher when the document does not print them, and we never infer them. Every settings page carries the label "Manufacturer-published reference parameters, not tested by CutChart", a source panel with the publisher, document title, publication date and capture date, and a safety panel that quotes the material-safety statements of the manufacturer or laser vendor. A material without a sourced material-safety record has no settings page.
Keep the limits with the claim
The LightBurn guide explains software behavior without presenting a machine setting. Our unit converter changes the units, with no claim that the result suits another machine.
Change records when the evidence changes
Published dates describe content edits; source-read dates describe document checks. We do not advance either date just because the site rebuilds. Conflicting or incomplete records remain out of the settings tables until resolved.
